Grand Re-opening
May 11, 2010 – The Mayor of Maui, Charmaine Tavares, joined with the Mother-Daughter Team of Judy Stockwell and Jamie Yabes to celebrate the grand reopening of The Nail Shop Maui. Surrounded by staff, customers, friends and family, the huge pink ribbon was cut, and the party was on. Long time customers of the shop were thrilled that their favorite venue for beautifying their skin and nails looked ready to enjoy another quarter century in the neighborhood.
The pink ribbon was thematic and a familiar pink ribbon was worn by the owners and staff. Judy explains: We are in the business of helping women look beautiful, and we want to partner with our customers and neighbors to give something back. We are going to do that through being the central hub of breast cancer awareness in Kihei. As a starting point we have stocked the shop with a selection of products that have the breast cancer awareness logo.
Other new directions for The Nail Shop Maui include an new emphasis on the wedding business. Jamie pointed out, "My Dad is Bill Stockwell of Photos on Maui, possibly the best known wedding photographer in South Maui. We are going to look to our existing network of friends and associates in the wedding trade to encourage brides and their entourages to come here for pre wedding skin, nail and makeup treatments."
The store is located in the Azeka Mauka Shopping Center at 1279 S. Kihei Road,#113, in the heart of Kihei on Maui’s south side just minutes from the island’s prestigious Wailea hotels and exquisite sunset beaches.
